The Dixton

This large standard lampshade was made using a vintage shade that was stripped down and re-covered using a traditional soft tailored lampshade technique.  As it is a vintage frame that has been re-covered there are one or two scratches on the duplex ring and struts but otherwise the frame was in a perfectly sturdy condition when stripped down.  This shade will need to be used with a shade carrier, not supplied.  The bright floral cotton mix fabric was hand stretched onto the frame, hand stitched into place and fitted with a crepe backed satin lining.  A bias trim in the same floral fabric is used on the upper and lower rings of the frame.   A fabric sample is available on request.  The lining fabric has been treated with a fire retardant spray.

All drum lampshades can be used in the UK and Europe (converter included).
We recommend the use of a low energy bulb or an eco bulb with your lampshades. Low energy bulbs use less energy and are cool to the touch, avoiding the problem of scorching shades and ceilings.
